This free Adobe Photoshop CS3 tutorial shows how to make a Love colored poster.
Create a new file (File>New) that would have 1024×768 px and 72 dpi.

Next we have to find in Internet a kissing couple in the middle of the nature.
We will use image from www.irishviews.com!

Cut out the couple and the front part of the landscape to insert it on our basic picture.

Select the Rectangle Tool (U) to represent the layer behind the couple, placing it lower than the couple’s layer (on the layers’ panel).

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:

Download from Internet a picture of the blue sky with clouds on it.

Cut out the clouds, moving off the upper part of the sky and then insert the layer on the picture. The layer must be placed lower again than the couple.

Make a click on the lowest part of the layers’ panel on the next option: Create new fill or adjustment layer>Hue/Saturation. The layer must be placed lower than the couple’s layer.

Using the Custom Shape Tool (U), it’s possible to represent several rays on the sky, choosing the white color for them. Place this layer lower than the kissing couple’s layer.

The layer’s parameters: Fill 5%

Choose next the Pen Tool (P) and try to represent a fillet, colored with #C6B89B, which shape should be corrected with the Convert Point Tool.

Try to use now the Ellipse Tool (U) to represent several circles situated on the same layer, by pressing the SHIFT button. Place this layer lower than the couple’s layer too.

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow

Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:

Using the same instrument, try to make several more circles situated on the same layer, colored with #F6D9D5. Their layer must be placed lower than the couple’s layer too.

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow

Next we have to apply the Ellipse Tool (U) to represent the white circle as it is demonstrated next picture. Place its layer lower than the couple’s layer.

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow

Try to picture inside the already made circle another one, colored with #D10B4D

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Inner Glow

Use the same instrument for picturing another white circle.

For a better result, now we’ll combine in a group all the layers composing those three circles: the white one, the red one and the white one again (press Ctrl button to mark out the appropriate layers and hold on the left mouse’s button while moving the marked layers on Create a new group option). Make a copy of the last group and select the Free Transform option to make the copy smaller and to place it the way it is done below:

Make one more copy of the circles’ group and select the Free Transform option to minimize the group. Next take the Ellipse Tool (U) to introduce in the middle of the smallest circle another one, colored with #D10B4D

Make a copy of the recently made group and apply Free Transform to make the copy smaller and to place it exactly it is demonstrated below:

Select now the Pen Tool (P) to picture a fillet, the way we did earlier, applying the same method and the same color.

Using the Custom Shape Tool (U), try to make now a heart’s silhouette, which layer should be placed lower than the couple’s layer.

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Inner Shadow

Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:

Blending Options>Stroke

Using the Ellipse Tool (U), it’s possible to represent some highlights on the heart, pressing the SHIFT button.

The layer’s parameters: Fill 0%
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:

Try to picture now near the heart another fillet, selecting previously the Pen Tool (P). The element’s shape may be corrected with the Convert Point Tool.

The layer’s parameters: Fill 0%
Blending Options>Drop Shadow

Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:

Next we’ll try to make a paper toy-ship. Firstly we need to represent the first element with the Pen Tool (P) and the color #E5E4E4. The element’s shape may be corrected again with the Convert Point Tool. Place this layer lower again than the couple’s layer.

Use the same instrument for creating the next element of the ship.

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow

Use the Rectangle Tool (U) to represent an opening in the ship’s elements, inclining it with Free Transform option. The color in this case is #B5B5AF

Press Alt button and make a mouse click between the opening and element’s layers from one side and the ship on the other side for the opening to be applied in the limits of the ship’s element.

Use the previous instrument to represent the next ship’s element, colored with #B6B7A6

Make the same way the next ship’s element of the paper ship. The element’s color is #D0CFB3. Its layer must be placed lower than the kissing couple’s layer.

Make a copy of the recently made layer and choose Free Transform option to turn over the copy and to incline it the way it is demonstrated below.

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:

It’s time to picture a cloud of white color under the ship, using for this operation the Pen Tool (P) and correcting its size with the Convert Point Tool.

Make a click on the same layer on Add a Mask option on the layers’ panel and choose a standard brush, Brush Tool (B), of black color to clean out the cloud’s part indicated below.

Find in Internet a picture representing a fish.

Cut it out and insert it on our picture.

Make three copies of this layer and choose again the Free Transform option to place the copies as it done next image.

Create a new layer and choose again the Brush Tool (B) and the color #D3D3D3 to picture above each fish several air bubbles.

Find in internet a picture with a tree, cut it out and introduce it on the basic picture.

The picture is finished!
