This tutorial teaches you how to design a soccer Euro 2008 wallpaper by following this step-by-step guide.
Create a new file (File>New), having 1280×1024 px and 72 dpi.
Next we shall select the Rectangle Tool (U) to represent the background of the picture.
Select the next parameters for the made layer by making a click on the layer we work with on the Layers’ Palette.
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Using the same tool, it’s possible to represent the bottom part of the picture’s background.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Select the Pen Tool (P) and try to make a ray on the picture.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Use the same tool to draw another ray:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Applying the Rectangle Tool (U), it’s possible on this stage to draw a horizontal line, colored with #15597D
Select the same tool to draw one more line of white color.
Using the same tool applied before, try to make one more line, colored this time with #32768D
Find in Internet a picture with a soccer player.
Cut him out of the picture and the ball.
Set the next shown parameters for the soccer player and the ball, inserting them on the picture: Blending Options>Color Overlay
Make a copy of the layer containing the player and choose after that the Free Transform option to turn around the copy, placing it the same way demonstrated next picture.
Make a mouse click on the same layer on the bottom part of the layers’ palette on Add a Mask option. After that we’ll select the Gradient Tool (G) to represent the reflection’s darkening.
Create a new file (File>New) of 1000×1000 px and 72 dpi to represent the logo of Euro Cup 2008. In this case it’s necessary to choose the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool for the appropriate corrections. The layer’s color is #FF1200
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Try to make now a shadow on the drawn element of the logotype. The applied tools are the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool. The color chosen in this case is #9C0001
Select the above mentioned tools to draw now a highlight on the logotype’s element.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Then we need to make one more highlight on the same element:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Select on this stage the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool to picture a shadow on the logo’s element:
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Applying the last tools, try to make one more shadow on the same element.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Use the same methods to introduce another shadow on the logotype.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Now we need to draw one more highlight on the logo’s element, choosing for this operation the same Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Applying the Ellipse Tool (U), we need to represent the next element belonging to our logotype.
The layer’s parameters: Fill 0%
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Select the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool to represent one more element reserved for the same logotype. The color this time needs to be #32771C
Continue representing the logotype, selecting the same Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool for the appropriate changing and corrections.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
The same instruments need to be chosen to continue representing the logotype.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Next step we’ll select again the above applied instruments to represent several more elements belonging to the same logotype.
Continue creating the logo, selecting the same well – known tools – Pen Tool (P) and Convert Point Tool.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Applying the above used instruments, try to insert one more element on the logo, having the black color.
Set the next parameters for the layer: Fill 20%
The next element is of white color and its representation is possible to do, following the same method from above.
The layer’s parameters: Blending mode-Soft Light
Make a copy of the last made layer and select for the copy the parameters demonstrated below: Fill 70%
Blending mode-Normal
Next we need to represent two circles (one into another), having the same parameters. This time we need to select the Ellipse Tool (U).
The layers’ parameters: Fill 0%
Blending Options>Stroke
Put together the circles’ layers into a single one (pressing Ctrl button, marking out the appropriate layers and pres Ctrl+E). Then we need to select the Eraser Tool (E) and move off the unnecessary elements.
Create one more circle, having the next demonstrated parameters: Fill 0%
Next step includes choosing the Horizontal Type Tool (T), moving the cursor to the top circle’s edges and write the word “UEFA”.
Next we’ll write other words – EURO 2008 Austria – Switzerland, under the word UEFA.
EURO
2008
Austria-Switzerland
Above the EURO word on the Layers’ palette we’ll insert the layers with the ellipses, having the color #FC2C28
Keep pressed Alt button and make a mouse click between the ellipses layers and the EURO layer (on the layers’ palette).
The logotype is done. Merge Down the logotype’s layers into a single one (keep pressed Ctrl button to mark out the necessary layers and press Ctrl+E). Insert the logotype on the right top corner of the picture. The logotype’s size may be changed with Free Transform option.
Create a new layer now and use on it a standard brush of white color to represent two lines made of dots.
Select the programs Toggle the brushes palette from the top part of the panel.
Finished!
